CONGO CONVERSATIONS RETURNS

JANUARY 17, 2026 at 10 AM EST

What is it like to be a woman leader in Congo? Where do leadership experiences connect across continents and between men and women. Where do those experiences surprise us?

Join Adelphine Angemito and Vivian Bwirabuli, our January conversation partners, for a dialogue where your questions drive the conversation. Adelphine and Vivian will answer your questions about the obstacles and breakthroughs they have experienced and observed in others.

What challenges cross borders? Which ones are uniquely Congolese? What can we learn from each other?

This isn’t a presentation—it’s genuine conversation. The kind that happens when curiosity meets honesty. The kind that changes how you think about leadership, resilience, and what’s possible when people connect across 7,000 miles.

Bring your questions. Expect honest answers. Join the conversation that matters.

CONGO CONVERSATIONS: WOMEN LEADING CHANGE

Impact Now hosted two Congo Conversations in 2025. These virtual events bring you face-to-face with women leaders in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Each Conversation highlights why women’s leadership matters, what it looks like in action, and how it shapes families, workplaces, and communities.

Real Stories. Real Impact.

The first Conversation introduced Asengo and Fatuma, recent Nyota graduates, alongside JeanMarc, Nyota’s co-director. Listeners heard powerful personal stories of courage—how these women began leading despite resistance, the cultural and personal barriers they’ve had to overcome, and the ways their confidence is sparking hope in their communities.

Women Leading Change

The second Conversation shifted the focus from Nyota graduates to Adelphine Angemito and Vivian Bwirabuli, members of the Nyota teaching staff, as well as UCBC staff members, they offered a glimpse into how Nyota shapes women’s confidence and skills, and why leadership development is so vital in Congo. Both spoke about Nyota’s multiplying effect. Women who step into leadership strengthen families, workplaces, and entire communities as they experience personal transformation.
