Amazing stories of impact pour in from graduates of the NYOTA Women’s Leadership Program. NYOTA graduates have—

  • Secured financial aid for survivors of sexual violence.

  • Negotiated fair pay and better conditions for domestic workers.

  • Eased the anxiety of women and children recently forced from their homes.

Yes, NYOTA has made a tremendous impact and unleashed the power of women leaders working to improve their communities.

The first NYOTA cohort had a 100% graduation rate! Keep in mind, these women met—

  • face-to-face for two—and sometimes three—hours.

  • every Saturday for six months.

  • while maintaining full-time jobs and family responsibilities.

NYOTA participants didn’t just learn theory. They practiced what they learned. From the beginning, they acted decisively to improve the lives of other people. For instance:

Three months into the program, Marie facilitated the release of children who had been held captive by local militia. Through NYOTA, Marie grew her self-assurance. Because she felt confident about her improved communication and advocacy skills, she stepped forward and—literally—saved 23 children. By her own admission, this is something she would have never done before NYOTA.

There’s more to come!

The next NYOTA cohort begins March 2025. Thirteen women have already pre-registered. We are confident that registrations will exceed the 25-person limit for this next cohort. And this next cohort will, like Marie, graduate with confidence and skills to transform lives.

You can be a part of accelerating this kind of impact!

During the month of March, Women’s History Month, Impact Now unleashes the Accelerate Impact campaign.

The goal: Completely cover the cost of this next cohort, so 25 women can develop the confidence and skills to transform their communities.

You will hear updates throughout the month about how your investment accelerates impact.

Give generously to expand the impact of NYOTA in the lives of women like Marie, and in turn, in the lives of countless others that they impact.
