Linda Etoy, a Nyota Graduate wrote to us with this update:
“Hello Mary, NYOTA is much more than just a training program. It is a true catalyst for change that has transformed my vision of leadership in a context of permanent crisis. Thanks to NYOTA , I have been able to strengthen my autonomy and build strong networks, thus able to implement concrete initiatives for the benefit of my community.
In an environment marked by war, violence and systematic violations of human rights, women leaders, driven by a resilient vision and a strong commitment, play a vital role in inspiring and mobilizing their communities to overcome adversity.
Recently, during a service mission in Goma, where I am still, I was confronted with moments of great uncertainty where each minute could mean a tragic loss. However, the practical tools and support of NYOTA mentors, particularly in communication and stress management, gave me a real breath of fresh air. I was able to transform anxiety into concrete actions through, promoting solidarity and social cohesion. The community comfort sessions for organized to support traumatized and injured people in hospitals. This helped create an environment of hope for people affected by the war, despite this time of crisis.”
