Thank you for keeping in touch with Impact Now and following the activity with the NYOTA Leadership Program. Our first cohort is fast approaching the end of this six-month program.

This past Saturday we began the last of the program modules, Networks and Partnerships. This last phase will help participants build strong, meaningful connections to support their continued growth as leaders. It will also help their organizations. In fact, we regularly hear how NYOTA participants are applying their new knowledge and skills in their organizations.

Celebrating Successes

Saturday’s session began with a celebration of a few of those examples. One that stands out is Charline’s story. Charline’s organization, Actions Concrètes pour la Protection de l’Enfance (ACOPE), wanted to submit a grant proposal for funding. Charline was able to make a significant contribution to the grant proposal by applying skills she learned during the Project Management module. Her colleagues were impressed and appreciative of Charline’s contributions and were more confident in their grant application. It was wonderful to hear Charline speak with pride, joy, and confidence!

Networking and Partnerships—Module 6

During Saturday’s session, we focused on networking and partnerships basics. This included looking at the differences between the two strategies and the respective value that each has for a leader and for her organization. I led participants through an activity where each one evaluated the type, depth, breadth, and qualities of her networks. The women then shared these observations in pairs. After that they each identified 2-3 concrete steps to strengthen their networks. This week, they’re challenged to implement at least one of those steps. I look forward to hearing what transpired when we meet this coming Saturday.

As we near Giving Tuesday on December 3, I’m reminded of the importance of your participation in NYOTA as an Impact Now friend. You are supporting women as they gain critical skills and build confidence to lead their organizations and communities toward positive change.

Thank you for being a part of this journey.

And please stay tuned for more success stories from our NYOTA leaders.

GIVING TUESDAY IS DECEMBER 3.
